Consultancy - Legislation Duty Of Care

Legislaton

The Environmental protection Act 1990 imposes a Duty Of Care on anyone who produces, transports, keeps, treats or disposes of waste or acts as a broker.

BeWise Waste Solutions Ltd is able to ensure that clients comply with current legislation and that waste is transferred only to an authorised site and is accurately described on the waste transfer note to enable proper handling at a licensed waste facility.

BeWise Waste Solutions Ltd, can assist you in your compliance with the Duty Of Care requirements & responsibilities under the appropriate regulations.

In 2009 The Hazardous Waste Regulations were amended so that all places where waste was produced, collected, or removed should be considered to be “Premises” If you produce less than 500Kg of hazardous waste in a 12 month period you do not need to register. Registrations are valid for 12 months but if expired over 30-days they cannot be renewed. Premises in England and Wales producing, collected, removed over the 500 kg over a 12 month period, and must be registered with the Environment Agency. Similarly when waste is collected from premises and taken to another location then a consignment note is required. We are able to provide this service on your behalf.
